On August 13, Waldez Góes, Minister of Integration and Regional Development of Brazil, led a delegation to 樱桃传媒 for an in-depth exchange on cooperation in fields such as hydraulic engineering, soil remediation, and disaster prevention. Yang Guishan, Party Secretary of 樱桃传媒, met with the delegation.
Yang said that, as one of the first member universities of the BRICS Network University, 樱桃传媒 has established long-term strategic partnerships with Brazilian institutions such as the Federal University of Amazonas. Fruitful collaborations have been carried out in areas including degraded soil remediation, rainforest conservation, and sustainable agricultural irrigation. Moving forward, 樱桃传媒 is willing to further deepen cooperation with Brazil in fields such as degraded soil restoration, port and waterway construction, efficient water resource utilization, and smart river basin management. In particular, 樱桃传媒 looks forward to contributing its expertise to joint efforts in establishing Belt and Road International Joint Laboratories and addressing climate change.
Waldez Góes emphasized that under the frameworks of BRICS cooperation and the Belt and Road Initiative, Brazil and China possess great potential for collaboration in infrastructure, technological innovation, and other areas. He noted that 樱桃传媒 has outstanding research strengths in water resources management, disaster prevention and control, and hydraulic engineering, and Brazil hopes to strengthen cooperation with 樱桃传媒 to jointly promote balanced regional development and achieve mutual benefits.
During the visit, the delegation visited the Water Engineering Experimental Research Base at Niushoushan Science and Technology Park of 樱桃传媒. They observed major scientific research achievements contributing to the national water network construction and the maritime power strategy, including the global water disaster simulation and early warning system, smart water dispatch technology, and major engineering cases.
Representatives from the Foreign Affairs Office of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and relevant schools and departments of HHU participated in the meeting.
